UNION MEETING:

The next Union Meeting will be a Notified meeting held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Meeting Hall at 2300 E. River Rd.  This meeting will be notified for the purpose to discuss and vote on the 69th and 70th Amendments to the Pension Fund.  For the 69th Amendment there is a proposal to the death benefit.  For the 70th Amendment there is a proposal to increase the pension credit.  A credit will increase from $47.00 per credit to $48.00 per credit.  It is also proposed that retirees will receive a $20.00 per month increase.

This is also notice that the Union meeting on Wednesday, April 14th, at 5:30 p.m., will be a Notified Meeting.  This meeting will be notified for the purpose of dispersal of the 2010 rate increase.

 

CLAYBUSTER LEAGUE:

The Local 86 Claybuster League will begin on Wednesday, May 5th, at the Rochester Brooks Gun Club, located on Honeoye Falls #6 Road, approximately 3/4 of a mile East of Rt. 15 in the town of Rush (from Rochester -  390 South to exit 11 Rush, heading South on Rt. 15 to flashing yellow light, turn left on Honeoye Falls #6 Rd.)  Shooting times will start at 5:00 p.m.  Sporting clays in the past few years has been the event to shoot.  We will shoot trap and skeet if enough people are interested.

Once again this year, we invite all members of the Building Trades to come out and join us.  We will be having one practice night this year for any new shooters on Wednesday, April 18th (weather permitting), but veterans are welcome too.  You can help out the new guys! 

You only need 7 shoots or (350 targets) to qualify for the shoot-off and make ups are allowed.  There is a onetime $10.00 fee for non-members of the Rochester Brooks Gun Club that must be paid at the beginning of the season.

PLEASE NOTE:

PIN PARTY:

Saturday, April 10th will be the 9th Annual Dinner Dance, featuring "Figure 8" band.  Service Pins to be awarded to members initiated in the years ending in 0 and 5.  Mark your calendars!

LU 86 HOCKEY TEAM:

Practice times for March are as follows:

         

        Saturday, March 6th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

        Saturday, March 20th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

All practice sessions will be held at ESL Ice Rink.  This is open to all Local 86 members and family.

JOURNEYMAN TRAINING - UPCOMING COURSES:

The JATC has scheduled the following classes.  If you are interested in any of them, please call the JATC office at 235-5050.  If necessary, leave a message at extension 300 and leave your name, phone number, and which class you want to attend.

NANTEL Training

    If you are interested in obtaining your NANTEL cerification, Phil is going to be available on March 3rd and March 4th to assist you in working through the test modules on the computer.  IF you are interested in doing this, YOU MUST contact the JATC office BEFORE these dates in order for Phil to obtain your user ID and password to get into the program.

OSHA 30 TRAINING

     The JATC has scheduled an OSHA 30-hour class.  We are accepting 20-25 people for this class.

OSHA 30 Hour - Monday, March 8th, 5pm - 9pm

                       Thursday, March 11th, 5pm - 9pm

                       Saturday, March 20th, 8am - 6pm

                       Saturday, March 27th, 8am - 6pm

                       + a 2 hour Asbestos Awareness Class within the past year

                      

                      You MUST attend ALL days and ALL hours!!

Introduction to Motor Control

     This class is scheduled to be 12 hours.  Call early, we are only accepting a maximum of 10 people for this class.

        Monday, April 5th, 5pm - 8pm

        Wednesday, April 7th, 5pm - 8pm

        Monday, April 12th, 5pm - 8pm

        Wednesday, April 14th, 5pm - 8pm

                     

SAFETY TRAINING:

Kodak Safety Training

Employment at Kodak requires a current Kodak Safety card and an OSHA card that shows you have completed these Safety Courses. You must have these cards in your possession while working on Kodak property.

Please note – Kodak is offering this training on Wednesday starting at 7:00 a.m., in Building 28 Theater on the Ridge.

You must also have your 10 hour OSHA card with you in order to take the class. If you need the 10 hour OSHA course or Asbestos Training (also required at Xerox) you may contact the JATC office at 235-5050 for the next available course offering. If you have lost your OSHA card contact the JATC office.

XEROX SAFETY COURSE - The Xerox Safety Course is held every Monday at 8:00 a.m. at Building #36, in training room #2 for anyone wishing to take it.

DRUG TESTING: (Please Note - New Location:)

Drug testing can be done at Occupational Onsite Inc., 1600 Lyell Ave., Suite C.  Please call (585) 723-3891 for same day appointments.

 

Executive Board Meetings

 

The Local 86 Executive Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and the fourth Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. of each month.
